BRISKAL Preparation and Submission of Claims to AHC

BRISKAL Systems Ltd. is accredited by Albera Health Care (AHC) to electronically submit claims on behalf of Alberta medical practitioners. This document outlines the features, costs and turn-around schedule of BRISKAL's claims preparation and submission service.

BRISKAL AHC Claims Preparation and Submissions: Features

- Clinics send their claims to BRISKAL via fax, mail, or Medical Delivery Systems
- BRISKAL prepares the claims and submits directly to AHC via modem
- AHC returns payment information to BRISKAL via modem
- BRISKAL prepares payment reconciliation and sends assessment results to clinics
  via mail or Medical Delivery Systems
- As required, BRISKAL will re-submit claims as per clinic instructions

BRISKAL AHC Claims Preparation and Submissions: Setup

- Each practitioner must complete Alberta Health Care's form number AH 2096
  entitled: SUBMITTER/CLIENT RELATIONSHIP FOR ELECTRONIC CLAIM SUBMISSION TO AHC
  this form is available from BRISKAL or from Alberta Health and Wellness

BRISKAL AHC Claims Preparation and Submissions: Costs

- For each claim line submitted or re-submitted to Alberta Health Care: 35 cents per line
- NO CHARGE for claim supporting information (text lines, additional info for Medical Reciprocal claims)

BRISKAL Turn-around Schedule:

- BRISKAL follows AHC schedule for weekly payments
- BRISKAL must receive claims by Wednesday at noon
- Claims are processed and submitted to Alberta Health by Thursday afternoon
- Assessments are received Monday morning detailing the payment for the following Friday
- Assessments are processed immediately by BRISKAL
- Assessment reconciliation reports are sent out by 2:30pm on the day they are received
